MSHA Part 46 Training - Typically held in the Mt. Vernon and Tacoma areas, the MSHA Part 46 training requires 8 hours of Annual Refresher training for "Experienced and Newly Hired Miners," as per recent MSHA regulations. For more information on this class, visit the MSHA Part 46 Refresher page.
March/AprilMSHA Spring Thaw - This collaborative event brings together agency, industry, and safety resources to advance and promote good safety practices, reduce incidents, and provide compliance tools. The event is designed to establish a strong, productive, and communicative relationship between agency and industry and share our collective resources, safety tools, and strategies to ensure our employees go home daily. It is open to Association members, non-members, and contractors who regularly work on or visit MSHA mine sites. April/MayAwards for Excellence in Concrete Construction - The Washington Aggregates and Concrete Association is pleased to formally recognize your professional accomplishments in the outstanding use of Ready-Mix Concrete throughout Washington State. Award entries are typically due at the end of March or the beginning of April. January - June, September - DecemberACI Certifications - ACI Certifications will conclude in early June for the summer construction season. Classes are not held during the summer and will resume in the Fall. Please check your expiration dates and plan accordingly. JulyAnnual Family Summer & Membership Meeting - WACA has held this event for many years at Campbell's Resort in Chelan. Activities include the kids' kite-flying contest at the BBQ, where live music is enjoyed, a kids' silent auction, and our President's Reception with silent, live, and dessert auctions. Registration for this event will typically open around the beginning of May. The annual Golf Tournament is a membership event with the Family Summer Meeting. Sponsorship opportunities are available! Registration will go out with the Family Summer Meeting registration. AugustNo events are planned in preparation for the new fiscal year. SeptemberACI Certifications resume. It allows members to visit with state legislators and agencies in Olympia to discuss critical state, local, and industry issues impacting the aggregate, ready-mix concrete, and general business/employer community. It also allows those who have never visited Olympia during a legislative session to observe their state government in action and witness the legislative process firsthand.
