Important Information

MSHA Part 46 requires 8 hours of annual refresher training for “experienced and newly hired miners”.  The WACA Safety Committee offers affordable and comprehensive aggregate industry specific training modules to help you satisfy these requirements.  

  • Deadline for completing annual Part 46 training is within a 12 month period of your previous training.
  • Your safety plan should be modified to include Aggregate Refresher curriculum. 
  • Reservations are on a first PAID registered / first served basis.
  • First Aid Refresher classes are limited to 25 people per each 4-hour session.
  • First Aid Training and Aggregate Refresher curriculum is facilitated by aggregate industry and FA safety professionals and MSHA Educational Services personnel as schedules allow.

New in 2018 

This 1-day training is Part 1 of an ongoing and progressive safety curriculum specifically designed by Aggregate Safety professionals for MNM facilities.  The curriculum will provide; 

  • Interactive and small group discussions giving miners an active role in their own safety training and input on what they learn.    
  • A structured curriculum can improve learning and safety behaviors
  • Promote safety leadership in employees, an important component for preventing incidents and injuries while strengthening the safety culture in your workplace.
  • Volume 1 begins with a review and discussion of the foundational safety topics;  Accident Prevention, PPE, Fall Protection, explosive and electrical safety, LO / TO, Hearing conservation, guarding and ground control, Mine act & Miner rights
  • Volume 1 workbooks will be provided to each registered miner.

2 elements of Safety Training are typically offered at this event: 

First Aid Training:     
4 hour Refresher Training is offered in the AM (and PM if necessary) plus 4 hours of topical training will satisfy your 8 hour requirements. 

Topical Training:
7.5 Hours Aggregate Refresher education curriculum will satisfy your 8 hour requirements plus

  • Each Facility is required to complete 30 minutes (or more) of site specific safety training covering changes at the mine site.
  • Miners will leave these sessions with approximately 7 hours or more of training.

Cancellation Policy

If you are in the January training and need to be moved to the February training, please notify us at least 1 week prior to the event.

Cancellation & Refund
Refunds are given less $10 processing fee.

No Shows
Funds will not be refunded or be carried over to another training date.  Be courteous, cancel ahead of time.
