Exam Information 

Written & Performance Exam

 Start Time: 9:00 AM

Important: ALL Examinees must use all PPE when taking their performance exam. PPE includes the following:

• Gloves, eye protection, appropriate work shoes, or other PPE as your employee may require them to use when on the job.
• Arrive at your scheduled time slot; do not come early. Based on the pace of others before, your time slot is approximate.

Please come prepared to pass and to participate safely in a group setting.

Certification Requirements:

ACI will grant certification only to those applicants who meet both of the following requirements:

1. A passing grade on the ACI written examination; AND
2. Successful completion of the ACI performance examination.

The one-hour written examination is closed-book and consists of approximately 60 multiple-choice questions. There are between 8 and 12 questions on each ASTM test method and practice. You must meet both of the following conditions to pass the written examination:

1. At least 60% correct for each of the required test methods and practices, AND
2. A minimum score of 70% overall.

The performance examination is closed-book and requires actual demonstration of select field procedures described in ASTM test methods C140/C140M, C780, and C1019. The examinee is judged on his/her ability to correctly perform (or describe, where allowed) the required steps for each procedure.

Certification is valid for five years from the date of completing all requirements. 

Recertification requires successful completion of both the written and performance examinations. 

STUDY MATERIALS
WACA will mail the ACI study guide once payment is received. 
The examinee may use a standard calculator. Cell phone calculators are NOT allowed.
